Gain is proud to present the Gaining Ground Scholarship Program. Meant to lend a helping hand and offset education costs for multiple families, Gain will be awarding numerous winners with amounts of up to $2,000. Scholarships are broken into application categories:

For years, Gain has been Burbank's leading provider of teen financial literacy. The Gaining Ground Scholarship Program is a continuation of Gain's renowned Independent Advantage financial literacy program for teens. We look forward to contributing to the continued education of our Independent Advantage alumni and students all across our community.

Scholarship Requirements

  • Must be a senior, or first year college student
  • First time High School applicants must be a senior in high school and be scheduled to graduate in the current school year
  • Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 for Independent Advantage graduates and 2.5 for general applicants
  • Must be going to college/university/technical school at least "part-time"
  • Must be planning to attend a
    • 4-year college or university, or
    • 2-year community college, or
    • An accredited vocational or technical school

Application Materials

Before you apply, you'll want to prepare the following:

  • One letter of recommendation from a teacher, school official, or academic mentor.
  • An official copy of your high school or college transcript(s)
  • Copy of acceptance letter AND proof of enrollment from educational institution
  • A Personal Statement Essay
